Before you travel
Route and access notes for the Sabarimala journey. Arrangements are set by the authorities and change from time to time — please check the current position for your travel dates.
Nilakkal is the main vehicle base on the Sabarimala route and the point at which private vehicles are commonly held during the busy season. Onward transport to Pamba operates from here. Your driver is briefed on the arrangement applying on your travel date.
Pamba is the base from which the trek to the temple begins. Vehicle access to Pamba varies with the season and the arrangements in force on the day, so we plan the drop-off around whatever applies when you travel.
Designated parking areas are used at the access point, and your driver will confirm exactly where the vehicle will be waiting before your group sets off. Keep the driver’s number handy — mobile coverage can be patchy in the area.
We pick up from homes, hotels, railway stations and all four Kerala airports. The regrouping point for the return leg is agreed with your driver in advance, so nobody is searching for the vehicle afterwards.
Waiting-and-return keeps the same vehicle and driver with your group. Waiting hours are agreed before departure and stated in the quotation; extended waiting is charged at the agreed hourly rate rather than a figure decided afterwards.
Season arrangements, route restrictions and access rules change from time to time and are set by the authorities, not by us. Please check the current position for your travel dates — we brief your driver on the arrangement in force before departure.
